I feel like Christmas just ended and as you can imagine, it was a little hectic between Thanksgiving and Christmas what with the birth of our first child and my family and JJ’s family both coming here, plus the usual Christmas stuff. Not to mention me going back to work and the momentum just keeps us barreling forward. And then I realize that another birthday is coming up. This year I got all kinds of loveliness for Christmas including my baby, an apron, picture frames, and lots of cookware. I like to think that for Christmas I ask for practical and that on my birthday I’m allowed to indulge a little so here are my self-indulgent birthday desires.
1. iPod shuffle in silver or blue
2. Mythbusters “I reject your reality and substitute my own” t-shirt in navy blue or else Mythbusters “Trust me, I know what I’m doing” t-shirt with navy blue piping. I’m going to guess that I’ll need a large if it’s a men’s size and extra large for women’s.
3. Cookbooks. I’m really after two in particular Everyday Pasta by Giada De Laurentiis and Eat This Book by Tyler Florence.
4. Gift card to Target. I like to shop there and there are lots of things I can get from there, but I never know what I might need.
5. Workout stuff. This might also fall into number 4 I guess. I need some new workout clothes to get the baby weight off. The one that I’m not looking forward to is getting new shoes. My friend Scott says I should go to Fleet Feet and get my feet sized properly.6. Tickets to a UNC basketball game.
7. Gift cards to Babies R Us. I know that technically that ends up being for Natalie, but I like getting her dressed in the morning for school – she dresses better than I do after all.
8. Picture frames. Either 5×7 or 4×6. We suddenly have an abundance of usable photos.
