Saturday was nice, relaxing day. Mostly. Kind of. We had a school open-house in the morning and I had to coach a Math Olympics practice. So the morning wasn’t exactly restful. But in the afternoon, JJ and I made paninis for lunch, played with the dog, lounged around. In the evening I made us beef stir fry with bean sprouts and wide rice noodles and then we went to Southpoint where I got a lovely bar of shea butter soap from Bath and Body Works, courtesy of an exchange from Christmas, and a bottle of Tropical Passionfruit body wash. We had ice cream at Marble Slab Creamery, came home, and then Sunday morning I slept till 9.
Today I’m back at school (the kids are having a quiet work time) and it’s dreary and cold out which means it’s an indoor recess kind of day.
Yesterday, Benji preached about using the abilities God has given us and that if we use them for His glory then when we arrive in heaven, we will hear “Well done, good and faithful servant.” And then he talked about how when we do things for God we should do them “at once.” The servants went “at once” and did what their master had entrusted them to do. Interesting. I have more musings about this but probably not suitable for public posting. But very interesting.
Coincidentally, I’m teaching that same parable in my Bible class at school this week.
