This weekend JJ and I went to Perry for an engagement/wedding shower. But while we were there we spent some time with his niece and nephew and his friends from his childhood and here are some of the quotes from the weekend. They are in fact totally random but hey, they were fun.

5-year-old Genna (after putting on a very formal, heavy material dress): I don’t think I’m old enough to wear this …
Genna (after deciding she liked the dress with no sleeves): I like this one … but don’t show my daddy that picture. He won’t like it.
Genna (after looking the mirror at her dress for awhile): I think I need heels.

Unidentified female to a child: No, it’s not goodest. It goes good, gooder, best.
Me and Paula: *hysterics*

JJ had Walker from about 9:30am to about 10:15am when the girls when shopping for Genna’s dress and Jackie and Sean were at Wal-Mart. After 30 minutes of throwing the baseball around and the football around …
Walker: I hafta potty
JJ (thinking): Uh oh …
they go in the restroom …
Walker: I just have to pee pee
JJ (thinking): YES! I can handle this …

Walker, at 4pm after waking up from a nap
me: Do you need to potty?
Walker: No … Unca JJ took me
and yes, he was referring to at 10 am

At lunch yesterday telling stories
Michael: I never learned to lie. Don’t go shopping and then ask me what you look like in something because I’ll tell ya …

about the steaks that Hollie’s dad apparently makes:
Michael: The next time I get one of those I’m telling him, “That’s not a steak. It’s a burnt offering.”

JJ: … and so the sports staff had a meeting at Hooters … I don’t know why we’d have a meeting at Hooters …
Susan: Bill, you want to explain that to him?

later during the same story …
JJ: … it’s the most awkward thing in the world to try and catch up with a girl you once knew when she’s your waitress at Hooters …
someone (I can’t remember who): Well what do you say to her? Wow, you’ve grown?

Pictures to come of our wonderful presents. My thanks and love to the people of Perry, GA. Especially Frank, Gayle and Brandon Borah and all the Potts. Even to a Kansas girl, there’s no place like [your] home.
