Patty cake, patty cake

Check another big one off the list. JJ and I met Sabrina at Mad Hatter’s Cafe and Bakery today to taste and design our wedding cake. We met the guy who will be in charge of the cake, who I think is also the owner/manager of the bakery. He came out wearing a polo, shorts, and sandals and I thought “I can work with a guy like this.” So after tasting cakes and fillings we’ve designed our cake! Each tier of cake has 3 cake layers and 2 filling layers, plus the outside icing. The whole cake will be iced with white buttercream icing, but we decided the insides needed to be different. So here’s what we came up with.

Bottom tier: 3 white cake layers, 2 layers of custard filling
Next tier: white cake, strawberry filling, white cake, whipped cream filling, white cake
Next tier: 3 chocolate cake layers, 2 layers of chocolate mousse
Top tier: chocolate cake, raspberry filling, chocolate cake, white chocolate mouse filling, chocolate cake

I had more sugar at that tasting than I usually have in a week. But we picked our cake and it’ll be pretty and tasty and now if we can get the invitations sent and flowers picked, I think we’ll have all the big stuff picked out!

3. had a tomato and mozzerella sandwich for lunch
4. am watching ‘Ed’
5. want to go back to sleep
